Opportunities for students at DB Systel

Internship

Do you want to help design the digital mobility of the future? Whether you are completing a mandatory or optional internship or taking part in the Student Track programme, you will be assigned to one of our ICT projects during your internship (of at least three months). Depending on the focus of your studies, you will work in the fascinating fields of software development, software architecture, IT consulting, IT project management or IT security in an innovative environment. We know you will love it as much as we do!

Working students

DB Systel is always looking for people who can work independently, who have a dedicated, can-do attitude, and who want to make progress – both on a personal level and with us. Working students spend a minimum period of six months with us. From the moment you join, you will gather invaluable hands-on experience by actively participating in our daily activities for up to twenty hours a week.

Parallel to your STEM course, you will help one of our agile teams to complete their latest ICT projects. You will be able to apply and increase the IT expertise you already have in a way that concentrates on practical issues.

Thesis phase

Are you the type of person that refuses to get bogged down in problems, but comes up with solutions? When it comes to completing your STEM course with a flourish, DB Systel can offer practical support. Whether you are working a bachelor's or master's thesis, why not get in touch with us? Choosing a topic will be much easier if you have completed an internship or working student placement with DB Systel. You can either work on a thesis topic that we have proposed or ask us to support you with a topic you have already chosen.

Candidates should have achieved good or excellent grades during their studies and have gained practical experience in a specialist area. If you would like to hear more about how we can help you, contact us at karriere@deutschebahn.com. Include your application documents in full and a proposal that describes in detail the content of your planned thesis. Tell us where you would like to work and the time period you have in mind. We will then look for a suitable placement at a unit that will support your work.

"I applied for a working student position in digital consulting at DB Systel in tandem with my degree in business informatics. I was impressed by DB Systel as an employer, not only because of its exciting fields of work and the possibility of being offered a position after my placement, but because of the flexibility on offer. As a full-time student, being able to decide when and where I work is extremely important to me."
