A convincingly systematic evaluation method
Each trend is subjected to a qualification process. From among the multitude of new trends, our trend analysis team, together with an expert network, selects the technologies that are relevant for Deutsche Bahn and evaluates their technical maturity, impact on railway business and benefits for the DB Group.
Our evaluation system has two dimensions:
Measures the relevance of a trend for the DB Group over a ten-year period.
Classifies the current maturity of a trend.
The TREND.RADAR evaluation criteria enable a systematic derivation of recommendations for action and form the basis of the strategic alignment of our portfolio of products and services. The TREND.RADAR is interactive and updated continuously.
Because it is integrated into the Group strategy, our results feed into the annual strategy process at Deutsche Bahn.
The TREND.REPORT is published annually and summarises the results of our interactive TREND.RADAR. Here, we explain the system behind trend evaluation and provide an overview of current developments and changes in the digital trend landscape. We describe selected digital trends in detailed trend portraits and present the key arguments based on which the trend in question was classified.
A TREND.STUDY discusses one current trend and examines its application and advantages for Deutsche Bahn. If we detect a new trend that seems to be relevant for the DB Group but has not yet attracted much attention on the market, we explore this trend further by means of a TREND.STUDY. This "trend special", with its comprehensive and detailed descriptions and definitions, provides greater insight into the fields of application and use cases for new trends.
