Digitalisation is changing the nature and speed of our work, enabling completely new forms of value creation. Studies show that companies with digital culture have greater economic success and more satisfied employees. This requires flat hierarchies because only these allow quick decisions. Instead of working separately in silos, we work in flexible, agile teams. This allows key competencies to be brought together from across the company.
People shape our success
One of the most important factors for success and competitiveness is that employees are committed and identify with the corporate culture. Digital transformation and the agility that comes with it make this factor more important.
A core element of Agile development is the self-organisation of teams. We are confident in the benefits of this type of collaboration – this is why half of our 3,800 employees will be working in self-organised teams by the end of 2018.
An Agile approach enables the necessary flexibility and increases profitability sustainably. Particularly in software development, and increasingly in all other areas, it is important to respond quickly to changing needs.
We use Agile methods, such as iteratively approaching a desired result (DevOps), to enable developments and solutions that are more precisely tailored to the needs of our clients.
The ability to adapt is one of the most important ingredients for success. That's why we get involved every day, raising our digital IQ with Agile methods like Scrum, Kanban and DevOps. Management 3.0, equal footing, entrepreneurship and collaboration are a lived culture for us. We use these approaches to actively shape our new working environment, to be closer to our customers, to reinforce our cooperation and thus to benefit the Deutsche Bahn Group as a whole.
