The foundation for starting your career

Article: Start working and learn responsibility right from the start

We focus on the future, so we’re looking for young professionals who want to be part of our success story.

DB Systel offers graduates of STEM courses a trainee programme with a special focus on ICT, making it the perfect basis for launching your career. Another option is to put your skills to immediate use by signing up for our direct entry route to work.

Your year as a trainee gives you the opportunity to gain practical experience of project management at an ICT service provider, and you will also learn about our structures and systems. At the beginning of the programme, we will assign you a target position and department, and we will then work with you to create your personal trainee plan.

Depending on your preferences and field of study, a range of different areas will be available to you as you work in your future career environment.

A mentor will supervise and support you every step of the way. Training courses will focus on technical as well as interdisciplinary issues, giving you an excellent grounding in your future tasks. These will include the DB Start seminar for new hires and courses looking at work methodologies and personality factors. Lectures and discussions with different experts and events organised by the TraineeClub at Deutsche Bahn AG add the finishing touches to the programme.  You can start your trainee programme at any time of the year.

Candidates for our trainee programme need to have obtained good or excellent grades during their studies. We are also looking for applicants who have gained some practical experience during internships or as a working student. Additional requirements include good command of English, communication skills and the ability to break complex issues down to their essentials.

Direct job entry

The continuing convergence of international markets means that there will always be new challenges for our employees to tackle.

Right from the start, you unit will prepare you for a specific position, allowing you to quickly assume responsibility for interesting ICT projects.  Our HR department and a tutor in your unit will be there to help you find your feet.
