Internships for school students

Every year, we offer around 70 internships for school students – lasting one to two weeks – to help them identify the right career path for them. They are given the chance to gain an insight into the various vocational training programmes and courses of study available at DB Systel, as well as the work they would be carrying out as part of these. During their internship period, they are guided by one of DB Systel's junior employees.

As well as this, each year we offer five opportunities for a whole-year internship. Each internship starts on 1 August.

As a partner company in the Hessen-Technikum programme, we also employ two of its participants each year. The programme gives school leavers with a leaving certificate from their school (or vocational school) the chance to gain practical experience in the STEM field. The Hessen-Technikum taster course consists of two main components: studies at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and a two-month internship.

Our internships for school students and whole-year internships are not advertised in the same way as job vacancies. Internships for school students can be carried out at all three of our training sites. If you are interested or have any additional questions, simply send your application – specifying the length of internship you would prefer – to ausbildung-dbsystel@deutschebahn.com. We will get in touch with you as soon as possible.
