Start out on your dream career with a school student’s internship at DB Systel

Article: Start out on your dream career with a school student’s internship at DB Systel

Doing an internship lets you test your strengths and find out what you want to do when you leave school.

Are you interested in a degree or vocational training in IT? Would you like to do an internship to find out if the IT sector and a career in it suit you? Then why not take advantage of the opportunity to gain some practical experience with DB Systel, a leading ICT solutions provider and the digital partner of Deutsche Bahn?

During their time with us, our interns gain a comprehensive insight into everyday working life at DB Systel, and they get to learn about the vocational training programmes and degree courses that we promote. One of DB Systel’s junior employees serves as a mentor for interns. Every year, we announce about 70 internships for school students who want to see what career path is right for them. These internships take place at our three bases in Frankfurt, Berlin and Erfurt.

We also offer students at technical schools positions for a year-long internship that enables them to progress to higher education at a university of applied science. Five such places are available every year. Each internship starts on 1 August.

All of our openings for interns in Frankfurt are marked “Schülerpraktikum IT” (IT internships for school students) on the DB careers page, and you can send us your application straight from the website. If you want to apply for an internship in Erfurt or Berlin, simply send an e-mail to systel4newtalents@deutschebahn.com, and tell us what time period you have in mind.

Hessen Technikum

If you’re a young woman completing a vocational school stream and have an interest in technology, we have some information specially for you. DB Systel is a member of the Hessen Technikum career orientation programme for female students, and we give young women a fantastic opportunity to gather practical experience in the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.     Every year, four positions at our main base in Frankfurt are available to techie-minded female students. The programme takes a two-pronged approach, combining a “taster course” at a university of applied science with internships at two partner companies, each lasting for three months. If this sounds like it’s perfect for you, simply submit an application via the Hessen Technikum homepage.
